Byron F. Buckner – President

Byron is the president of Buckner Barrels and has final oversight of all of the company’s operations. Byron has 28 years experience at Buckner Barrels, where he began his career as a laborer. Byron and his wife Amie have three daughters: Lacie, who is married (and off the payroll), Jordyne, who is a student at Auburn (soon to be off the payroll), and Lillie, who is in high school at Springville High (still on the payroll for a while). Byron is a deacon in the Southern Baptist Church and enjoys reading and tending to his cows and chickens. He has a Class A CDL license with a Hazardous Materials endorsement.

Richard (Ricky) Buckner – Vice President

Ricky helps to manage our sales and customer service functions. He has been employed full-time at Buckner Barrels since 1979, brining over 30 years of experience to our team. He has been a board member of the Reconditionable Industrial Packaging Association (RIPA) for several terms and is the current chair of the Regulations, Technical, and Legislative Affairs Committee of RIPA. He is a deacon and an ordained minister of music in the Southern Baptist Church. Ricky is also very active civically – he is a member of the Industrial Development Board and the Board of Directors of Vocational Schools of St. Clair County and is the immediate past mayor of Springville. During his term as mayor he was on the Board of Directors of the Alabama League of Municipalities. Ricky and his wife Dawn have three children: Richie, who is a freshman at Auburn University, Katie Beth, who is at Springville Junior High, and Becca, who is at Springville Middle School.

Patricia B. Webb – Treasurer

Trish is our treasurer and oversees our accounting department. She is often referred to as “The Daughter”, “The Sister”, Alex Anne and Jackson's mommy, Jason's wife, or “whatever is needed at the time”. She has been around Buckner Barrel since she was old enough to answer the phone and keep a pretend set of books with her toy cash register. After graduating from Springville High School and Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, she officially became an employee of Buckner Barrels. When not in the office, she enjoys working in the yard and gardening, chasing her kids and sitting on the beach (which doesn't happen often enough!).

Kenneth (Kenny) Buckner – Plant Manager

Kenny is our plant manager and is responsible for all of our reconditioning operations. Kenny has been employed at Buckner Barrel for 17 years. He has done many duties at Buckner, including running our incinerator before working his way up to plant manager. Prior to his tenure at Buckner, he was employed at Amerex Corp. for 10 years, where he served as Leadperson in the Wet Paint Dept. Kenny is married to wife Tammy for 26 years, they have two daugthers Sheri, who is about to be married (HALLELUJAH), and Emily, who is still looking for Mr. Right. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, feeding his chickens, and just sitting out on the back porch enjoying the view and the quiet time with his coffee or tea.

Susie D. Phillips – Office Manager

Susie serves as air traffic controller and keeps our entire business humming. She has spent her entire 22 year career at Buckner Barrels. She and her husband Russell have three children: Austin (who is a recent graduate of Auburn University); Sara Beth (who is currently on a volleyball scholarship to Southern Union Community College), and Riley (who is a student at Springville High School). When she is not working or attending her children’s sporting events, she enjoys working in her yard and watching HGTV.

Louie Goodwin – Maintenance Manager

Louie is our maintenance manager and ensures that all of our equipment is in proper and safe working order. Louie has worked at Buckner Barrels for over 15 years, where he began his career running our IBC reconditioning line. Prior to working at Buckner, he spent several years at a metal fabrication shop, where he gained extensive experience in all manner of buffing, welding, brazing, chroming, and operating multi-presses. He has 2 years of formal welding training from the Eden Vocational School and is a Type I and Type II Certified Refrigeration technician. Louie holds a Class A CDL with HazMat endorsement. Louie and his wife Sharon have twin sons, Garrett and Brent (who attend Springville Middle School) and live in Argo. When he is not working, Louie enjoys motorcycles, hunting, and camping.

Brandon D. McAvoy – Shipping & Receiving Manager

Brandon manages all of our shipping and receiving activities. Brandon has been employed at Buckner Barrels for 3 years. Brandon is a graduate of Springville High School and attended Delta State University, where he played varsity football. When he is not working at Buckner Barrels, he enjoys spending time at the gym he partially owns and playing flag football. He and his wife Lacie live in Springville.

R. Heath Buckner – President, Buckner Holdings

As president of Buckner Barrels’ parent company, Heath helps oversee all operations across our portfolio of businesses. He has been in this position since February of 2008. Prior to this, he spent several years at a boutique investment bank, advising a range of clients on mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance as well as several years in the Assurance and Advisory group of Ernst & Young, LLP. Heath has a B.S. in economics from Auburn University and an M.S. in accounting from the University of Virginia. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Heath and his wife Emily live in Springville with their son Levi and their golden retriever, Taft. He enjoys organic gardening and watching movies. He is also the Treasurer of Springville First Baptist Church.
